This drama has been on my radar since it started filming in late July. The reason is (of course) one of my favourites – Mr Xiu Jie Kai is the lead. 😀 Who knew I had a serious weakness for dimples and arms? I miss him on my screen!!! (Even though I only completed Marry or Not a couple of months ago, after seeing the pics below the fangirl fire has reignited.)
The pics are not from the drama. They’re from his promotion tour of Black & White 2: The Dawn of Justice which is premiering in China on October 1st. What has Jason Tsou been doing? He looks so tired!
Gosh, the need to seek out XJK stuff even has me digging up an old drama – Four Gifts (2010). The reviews were not so good but he was exceptionally hot in it. (Think police officer in a motorcycle who for some reason wears sleeveless tops a lot.) Then I realised I actually saw some of it before but just don’t remember LOL. But still, even though I’m just watching his scenes, it’s totally worth it.
So I thought I didn’t have to wait long before his new drama Constellation Women Series – Aries Woman (it’s the literal translation of 星座女人系列-牡羊座的女人) since it was scheduled to air after You Light Up My Star on FTV. However, I just saw on the news today the airing date has been pushed back because the next drama in the “Constellation Women Series”, which will focus on Taurus Woman has been delayed. So who knows when they will push it back to! Damn. You Light Up My Star hasn’t been doing so great ratings wise (at least the monetary investment isn’t generating the ratings they need) and I’m not in a position to comment on that drama either since I haven’t gone past episode 2.
There isn’t a lot of information about this drama – is there a synopsis yet? I guess the title is pretty telling, but apart from a drama about a woman with the Aries star sign, we know:
- Xiu Jie Kai will be play an architect.
- Janet Hsieh portrays a magazine editor.
- There will be kiss and bed scenes between Janet and Xiu Jie Kai.
- Chloe Wang’s character is a famous actress.
- Patrick Lee will portray an owner of holiday resort who pursues Chloe.
If the name Janet Hsieh doesn’t ring any bells that’s because this is her first drama. She is a Gold Bell Award winning host and famous for her travelling shows, outgoing personality and as she was born in the US, her Mandarin has a pretty strong accent. TBH the stills released so far aren’t super enticing, but it might be more interesting if there was a noona-dongsaeng element to it. (Janet is 3 years older than Xiu.) But then in Marry or Not, Tian Xin was 7 years older and they didn’t really explore that anyway.
Here’re some more stills from filming and hopefully there’ll be more information about this drama soon!
